Repeat Prescriptions

To order a repeat prescription please:

1          Order your repeats through the new ONLINE SERVICE  which is more secure and has an up to date list of your current medication.  See the Online Services button above to register.  THIS IS THE FASTEST AND MOST SECURE WAY TO ORDER YOUR REPEAT MEDICATION.

2          Return the request slip (which comes attached to your prescription) to Heilendi Practice.

3          Return the request slip to Boots or Sutherlands Chemists' in Kirkwall. (Please note this takes longer as the chemist has to put the slip up to Heilendi).

If you do not have the request slip, please write down the medications you require along with your name, address and date of birth and return to Heilendi, or to Boots or Sutherlands Chemists' in Kirkwall.  If you return your request to one of the chemists, they will send it on to the practice.

If you are returning the request slip please only tick the medications that you require.

For North Ronaldsay and Shapinsay patients you can either return the request slip to your practice, or to Boots or Sutherlands Chemists' in Kirkwall. When you return your slip please indicate whether you wish to collect your medication from either the practice, Boots or Sutherlands in Kirkwall.

For Heilendi Practice patients, please allow a minimum of 4 days before collecting your prescription from your nominated chemist. Therefore:

If you request you repeat prescription on...

You will be able to collect it from the chemists' on...

Following Monday

Following Tuesday

Alternatively you can collect your prescription form Heilendi Practice. Please allow 2 days before doing so.

For North Ronaldsay and Shapinsay patients, please allow a week to ensure we can deliver the medication back your practice in good time.

We ask you not to telephone your requests to Heilendi unless you are housebound.  This will greatly help us to provide you with an efficient service and reduce the chance of errors occurring  over the phone.

New Patients

We are unable to issue repeat prescriptions to new patients before they have been seen by one of the GPs.  If you are on repeat medication please ensure that you make an appointment well in advance of your medication running out.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
